This work is the result of the union of nature, the artist, and chance.
Nature has nurtured the pieces within itself; the artist has discovered them within nature, brought them together, and created an interpretive work. Chance has also been a constant influence in the process of creating this work, shaping its course.
In this piece, I set two creeping juniper branches—each fallen and forgotten among the grass—dancing upon a mulberry stump, so they could fall into an eternal embrace.
For love can make even the lifeless dance.
